No. HopeNet is an independent 501c3 with no religious affiliation or mission. None of HopeNet's funds are used for religious activities or purposes.

HopeNet is a direct service organization. It is the sole owner of a permanent housing program. It also provides free, healthy, and accessible food to those facing food insecurity in the Metro Los Angeles area and beyond, through a network of food pantries.

Unfortunately, HopeNet is at capacity and is currently not adding more distribution sites to its network.

When you donate to HopeNet, you are supporting all of the 12 food pantries in its network. All funds go to purchasing food and supplies for the entire network. Feeding hundreds of thousands of individuals who want or need food. When you give to HopeNet, you are not only feeding locals, you are also supporting many pantries at once. Making HopeNet's impact in the fight against food insecurity powerful and one of a kind. HopeNet is a non-affiliated organization. 100% of your donation is tax-deductible.

No. Anyone can receive food at any of the pantries within the HopeNetwork no matter their background or religious affiliation. Pantries are maintained by volunteers who treat all community members with kindness and dignity. HopeNet's Food Pantry Program has and continues to serve: Those who want or need food. Women, children, men, families, and seniors. Those who are low-income or are experiencing poverty. Black, Latinx, Korean, Armenian, White, LGBTQIA+, and veterans. Those experiencing homelessness, the under and unemployed, and most recently people who have been financially impacted by COVID-19.

HopeNet's office hours are Monday through Friday 9 am - 5:30 pm.

Yes, all food is and will always be free! The only thing you may be asked at a pantry to provide is the number of members in your household and zip code. No identification or payment is needed or required to receive food.

HopeNet receives federal funds to cover 36% of the food costs for its Food Pantry Program. The rest of the funds, and operation costs, HopeNet fundraises from individual and private donors. HopeNet also fundraises to cover costs for its HopeWest program.

HopeWest currently is at capacity and unfortunately does not have any openings.

Food varies on supply but, HopeNet emphasizes healthy food options. It uses funds to purchase healthy foods like lean proteins, dairy, fresh produce, and whole grains. HopeNet receives most of its food from the LARFB. It is expanding its partnerships to receive more food and more healthy food options for its community.
